Going On In The Dark
Psalm 88
I. This Dark Song Is The Voice of a Faith Pilgrim Whose
Suffering Brings Him To Despair and Cry Out To God.
A. This cry for help is devoid of hope.
B. There is no resolution in this Psalm.
II. What Do Followers Of Jesus Take Away From
Psalm 88?
A. We remember that there is only one
Psalm 88.
B. We reckon with the possibility that we may face
unrelieved suffering as our earthly lot.
C. We join this voice of "groaning in travail" which forbids us
to accept the present order as final.
Romans 8:22
D. We never give up, but keep crying out
and go on in the dark.
