Psalm 16

 

This Psalm Teaches Three Realities To Lay Hold Of:

I. Jesus Christ Is Our Lot In Life.

      A.  Our highest good is held out in our relating to Him.  Psalm 16:2

      B.  To have Christ is the big lot in life.  Psalm 16:1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11

II.  God's Joys And Life Are Eternal.  Psalm 16:11

    A.  The world's joys fade and its sorrows heighten.  Psalm 16:4

    B.  This Psalm is full of the language of delight.

III.  The Last Word Is Not Death.

    A.  Jesus' followers are not destined to be worm food.  Psalm 16:9-11; Acts 2:29, 13:34-37

    B.  The life which begins with union with Christ will be consummated in what is to come.  2 Peter 1:10
